Most of my peers who've graduated with me have already found a job. No, I'd like to say I'm not a conformist. *tsk tsk* I don't feel pressured to find a job ASAP. I took my time. Mainly because most people tell me to enjoy my holidays, and I've also heard horror stories from friends who are already in the working force. But I have been sending my resumes to various companies. "Casually job searching", that's what I call it. If they call me, then I'll go for whatever interviews or tests they want to put me through to determine if I'm "worthy" enough to join their company. If not, then I'll just continue enjoying my holidays.
The problem is, I don't exactly know what I want to go into. Should I go into audit? Or taxation? What about banking? Or should I join an MNC's finance & accounting department? So I prayed for God to open only one door and close the rest.
Turns out that my God is a very generous God. And a humorous one too. I got an offer from A one Friday. I was about to accept it, all I needed was to go for a pre-employment medical examination. But I was having my period, so I had to postpone it to next week. Come Monday, B called me to go for an interview. I was in a dilemma.... For a few hours. Haha. With encouragement from my supportive friends (who also happen to be working in B), I went to B's interview on Saturday on the same week. And... I got offered on the spot. Praise God! HR department contacted me on Monday to confirm (I got the department I requested!) and I accepted the offer, and I'll be starting work on 1 December (which is less than a week away!).
"Shoot for the moon and if you miss you'll still be among the stars. Promise me you will find a job you love this time!
PS. I love you..."
- Excerpt from P.S. I love you.
That was one of the notes that Gerry had left for Holly to read after his death. Similarly, Chin Tuck has been so understanding and supportive through this months. What would I do without him...
I'm excited about beginning this new chapter in my life. I want to do so many things and learn so much. I understand and I'm prepared that it's going to be difficult. The learning curve is steep. I'll be working and taking my professional paper at the same time. But you won't hear me complaining. (Do tell me if you ever hear me complain).
Some random pictures we took last month.
